Visit to Tirumala on 12-04-2012

Silathoranam, a beautiful location in Tirumala, situated 1 km west of main temple. It is a must visit place in Tirumala. The Silathoranam is an  Unique Combined Incarnation of SENKHU and CHAKRA and AUDI SESHA. If we observe clearly we can find CHAKRA(left side) and SENKHU(right side) of the arch. The Arch also resembles the hood of serpent, the Audi Sesha. One can see the perfect resemblance of SERPENT HOOD from back side of the Arch as Audi Sesha stretches His hood to the back side of the Lord. It is believed that The Lord put His first step at Srivari Padalu, which is the highest point of Tirumala Hills,3 km away from here and the second step at this Silathoranam by entering via this Silathoranam, finally settled in Sanctum Sanctorum with the third and final step. It is also observed that the gap between the Thoranam(arch) and Ground is the same as that of the height of the Lord in Sanctum Sanctorum. It is believed that the SANKHU and CHAKRA came to Venkatachala much before the actual arrival of Srinivasa and formed as Arch, means Thoranam-Garland, to give warm welcome to the Lord. The natural geological arch has two distinct physiographical regions - southwest upland and northeast lowland, naturally satisfying Indian Vastu. As per geologists this Unique Geological Arch formed 150 crores years before. Apart from this, there are only two of its kind in the entire World. But it is the only one in this World with Spiritual Importance. In Silathoranam Premises we can also see Rock Garden, Peacock Enclosure and sacred Chakra Theertham and Swayambhu Sudarshan Chakram.
